The Northern Cricket Union is pleased to announce that the nickname of the new Inter provincial 50 and 20 over team will be the Northern Knights.
The Union are pleased to announce that Peter Shepherd from Templepatrick Cricket Club is the winner of our naming competition. Peter wins two tickets for Ireland versus England, on the 3 September at Malahide Cricket Ground. With five people suggesting the winning name a draw took place to pick the winner. Tickets are still available for Ireland versus England online at www.ticketmaster.ie
Chairman of the NCU, Brian Walsh said: ‘We would like to thank all the entrants to the competition and with over 50 suggestions it was difficult, but the Knights was the most popular submission. It was also the favourite with a poll of players, so we went with it. Peter won the draw from the five entrants who suggested the name’.

The NCU would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for taking the time to suggest a name and we look forward to seeing you all supporting the 'Knights' at the upcoming Inter-provincial series of matches.
