The Northern Cricket Union announce the Northern Knights Squads
David Morton NCU PRO The NCU Representative Directorate have announced the Senior Knights Squad and the Emerging Knights Squad for 2014. Following the selection of the High Performance and Emerging Knights Squad, the underage squad coaches have also selected a Junior Knights Academy (to be announced shortly). Kyle McCallan, chairman of selectors said of the selections: 'I'd like to congratulate all players named in the various squads. A great deal of thought has been given to developing a long term strategy in terms of player development and I'm not only excited at the prospect of the Knights building on last years success, but also seeing how our younger talent flourishes in a high performance environment.' Eugene Moleon, coach of the Northern knights said: I am looking forward to the 2014 season and continuing working with the players named in both squads. We are determined to build on our success of 2013. I think we have selected a group of players who are filled with character and potential. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead and working with each player. Assisting them reach their full potential and bringing home some more silverware to the NCU The Knights who have remained in the province have been training regularly over the winter with the coach and this will increase and include indoor practices and training at the much improved facilities at UUJ and the Northern Ireland Sports Institute. A practice match has also been arranged against the Ireland Under 19s in May.
