The NCU Under 17's slipped to defeat against Leinster Under 17's today at CIYMS on an overcast day in East Belfast. The rain held off to see the Leinster boys run out winners by 7 wickets.
 
The NCU batted first and were bowled out in the 33rd over for 91. Top scorers were John Matchett (25) and Adam Dennison (21). Ben White for Leinster was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 5 wickets for 17 runs of 8 overs.
 
Leinster successfully chased down the total in the 23rd over for the loss of just 3 wickets. Top scorers were Lorcan Tucker (38 not out) and Jack Tector (20). James Mitchell was the pick of the NCU bowlers with 2 wickets for 20 runs of his 7 overs. John Matchett was the other wicket taker and Andrew Forbes bowled tightly, conceding just 13 runs from his 7 overs.
