Presentation to Andrew White by Instonians Cricket Club

Instonians CC

At the recent Instonians Cricket Club AGM a presentation was made to Andrew White to recognise him reaching the Irish record for the number of international caps for Ireland.

Former NCU Chairman Brian Walsh in making the presentation of an inscribed Rose Bowl to Andrew outlined his record of 231 caps, 4560 runs at an average of 27.80 and 125 wickets.  He is 3rd in the most runs scored and 15th in the most wickets taken for Ireland and also 3rd in the most catches held.  Andrew has now 5 more caps than his good friend Kyle McCallan who has 225 caps.

Pictured right are Norman Shannon (Instonians CC chairman), Brian Walsh, Andrew White and Michael Hunter (Instonians CC President).

In 10 years playing for Instonians, (2 years at Northants), Andrew has also had great success.  He has scored over 4500 at an average of 47 and taken 211 wickets at an average of 18.9.  In his time playing for the club Instonians have won the Premier League and shared it twice, won the Senior Challenge Cup twice, the Ulster Cup three times and got to a number of cup finals including the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup.

Andrew was presented with a picture montage showing among other things five of the winning teams.

Andrew was most appreciative to the club for all the support they had given to him over the years including the understanding they had shown him with his representative career.  He presented the club with one of his Irish shirts.
