What is your organisation doing to end bullying in sport?

Child Protection in Sport Unit

The Northern Cricket Union are gearing up for this year’s Anti-Bullying Week (17th-21st November). What will your cricket club be doing?

The theme is “Together We Will Make a Difference – END BULLYING NOW!”  The NCU are working with the Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum (NIABF) and the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit to encourage everyone, young and old, to think about the role they can play in ending bullying in our cricket clubs and in our communities.

The Northern Cricket Union are encouraging all cricket clubs with youth members to register with the NIABF who will then provide the clubs with a free resources pack, including presentations, sport specific workshop activities and sports posters.

Lee Kane, Regional Anti-Bullying Coordinator, explains why the week is so important:
"Bullying is an issue that must remain on the agenda every week of the year, but Anti-Bullying Week allows young people the opportunity to really think about what bullying means them, and what they can do if they are concerned about it.”

“It’s important that we remind the young people we work with that bullying is always wrong and that we all must play our role in making it stop.”
