Coach Education is moving from strength to strength within the NCU

Coach Education is moving from strength to strength within the NCU and last Sunday saw the impressive Bangor Aurora play host to the second Cricket Ireland 'Welcome to Coaching’ course of the winter.

21 coaches attended the 6 hour introductory course led by tutors Andy McCrea and Scott Irvine as an impressive 44 coaches from 20 different clubs have now completed the course at either UUJ or Bangor Aurora over the last few weeks.

Sunday also marked the first Cricket Ireland Coaching Course to be held at Bangor Aurora. The complex boasts new, state of the art facilities and both Cricket Ireland and the Northern Cricket Union are looking to develop increased links with the centre over the coming months.

Jonathan Moffett, Sports Development Manager for the Northern Community Leisure Trust said, "Northern Community Leisure Trust are proud to be working with Cricket Ireland to host coaching courses at Bangor Aurora Aquatic and Leisure Complex.  The first course held on Sunday 23rd November was very successful and we recognise that working together will support the development of cricket within the facility and support the clubs affiliated to the Northern Cricket Union.

Throughout February and March 2015 we will be hosting a Certificate coaching course (Level Two) which we hope will improve the standard of coaching delivered across the Union, which should ultimately increase the skill level of the participants taking part.  We look forward to working together again in the near future.’
