The Spring Regional Development Squad sessions got under way on Sunday at the University of Ulster Sports Complex at Jordanstown.
The introduction of sessions for the Under 9 age-group is a first for the Union and has come directly as a result of the tremendous interest shown in the pre-Christmas sessions.
It was felt that the number of good Primary 4 and Primary 5 players attending the U11 sessions at that time deserved more coaching targeted at their own age-group.
The 24 kids who attended certainly got some personal attention with 5 club coaches in attendance assisting Lead Coach Stephen Dyer.
The Under 11s also started their Spring programme under Lead Coach Andy McCrea and great to see that the Union now requires to book both Sports Halls at UUJ to accommodate the growing demand for cricket.
