The NCU are delighted to announce that Neil Russell has agreed to be its new Public Relations Officer with immediate effect. Neil is not only well known within NCU and Irish Cricketing circles but is also heavily involved with the Belfast Giants through their webcast commentary, as well as hosting & communications work with Premier Sports / Setanta Sports where he co-commentates on a regular basis. Neil, in conjunction with Alistair Bushe, was also responsible for last year’s Challenge Cup preview which was hugely popular amongst local cricket players and followers. 

Chairman of the NCU Andy Clement welcomed the appointment and said  “I am extremely grateful that Neil has agreed to become the Union’s PRO – his enthusiasm and knowledge of the local game and his already proven social media skills will allow the Union to promote the local game in a way not done before which can only be good for all those involved in local cricket. I sincerely hope everyone will give Neil their full support as he takes on this vitally important role” 

Neil is already looking forward to hearing from all the NCU Clubs in relation to what is happening within NCU cricket and would encourage said clubs to contact him at any stage so that the NCU can further promote across a wider audience what is happening in local cricket.
