Today was a day of education. Firstly there was some South African history on a visit to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years of incarceration. Then the boys spent the afternoon assisting the education of children of the Townships.

This morning after the earliest start yet the boys boarded the 9.00am ferry for the one hour crossing to Robben Island.

They were greeted by a former inmate who conducted the guided tour of the facility where he himself had spent 7 years. A real eye opener for the boys to hear, see and feel the surroundings - it really was an 'if walls could talk' experience.

The boys handed over 10 cricket bags loaded with sports equipment and educational materials to Kevin Chaplin the Managing Director of the foundation and saw a presentation of the work they do.

Then it was off to Vukukhanye Primary School in the Guguletu Township where working in groups with the coaches about 100 children took part in various cricket skills activities.

Matches restart tomorrow with two Twenty/20 matches versus St. Augustine's CC - U18s at 10.30 and U15s at 2.00.
