Civil Service North of Ireland Cricket Club (CSNI) recently held their annual Awards Dinner at the Pavilion, Stormont.
The Awards night was an opportunity for senior club members and their partners to celebrate the clubs successes on the field throughout the season which was capped off when the 1st XI won the Arthur J Gallagher Challenge Cup. The 3rd XI also achieved promotion to Junior League 2 and the 5th XI were promoted to Junior League 6 by winning their league.
Attendees heard from former England test cricketer, Geoff Miller, who had everyone enthralled with his cricketing tales and perfectly complimented the night.
Speaking at the Awards Dinner Club Chairman, Ivan McMinn, said: "2016 proved a successful one for our club both on and off the field by winning the Challenge Cup and consolidating a mid table position in the Premier League. With our 5th XI winning their league and the 3rd XI gaining promotion this is demonstrates the strength in our junior teams and that the hard work of the youth coaches and the Academy are paying dividends."
"I'm pleased to see so many club members here tonight and we were thoroughly entertained by Geoff, it was a pleasure to have such a cricketing legend attend our Awards Dinner."
The club presented Rahul Gondia with a gift to recognise his remarkable achievement by taking eight wickets for no runs for Campbell College against Dungannon earlier in the season.
An enjoyable night was had by all and with the club's Academy continuing into the Winter, we are planning more success in 2017.
