NCU Indoor Winter League 2016-17

NCU Representative Cricket

UPDATE - CRITERIA CHANGE (18th November 2016):

Due to a lack of numbers registering for the U25 Indoor Winter League, the NCU have decided to lift the age criteria on this competition – registration will now be open to all adult senior/junior league cricketers from within the NCU. The NCU are keen to offer an indoor winter league to maintain skill levels and develop cricketers in the NCU area, however; we will not be able to run the league if there is a lack of interest and engagement from teams. If clubs/individuals are interested in registering a team please do so by completing the attached form and emailing it back to ncu.cdo@gmail.com by Friday 25th November.

Please note: the competition will only go ahead if team registration numbers are sufficient.

The Indoor Winter League format will be played as a 6 a-side competition with teams being able to register up to 10 players per team for the season. The league will be open to player registrations from all clubs from within the NCU - however total league team entries are capped at 6 teams so it is advisable to have your team registered for ASAP to avoid disappointment. Each team will play two rounds of fixtures (10 matches in total) before a finals evening for those who have qualified.

There will be a registration fee of £5 per player to be paid BEFORE the start of each match – i.e. pay as you play!

Individual and team stats will be recorded throughout the Indoor Winter League season with the help of CricHQ scoring system – these will be made available on the NCU website at the conclusion of weekly competition. Matches will be played with a yellow Indoor Cricket ball which will be provided by the NCU. There is no rule on clothing, however to give each team an identity we encourage teams to consider a playing uniform or at the very least matching tops. Teams are also encouraged to come up with a team name (subject to league secretary approval) e.g. East Belfast Bears.
