Northern Cricket Union Announces Details Of Youth Development Squad To Tour In South Africa
The Northern Cricket Union has announced the Youth Development squad that will visit Cape Town in March when the fourteen man squad will play 6 matches against local opposition over a two week period. In addition to the matches there will be sessions at the Gary Kirsten Cricket Academy and a visit to Newlands as guests of Western Province CC to watch Day 2 of the Test between South Africa and Australia. On their visit in 2015 the tour party brought sports and educational equipment to support the work of the Amy Biehl Foundation and were able to assist the Foundation's programme with coaching in a Township school. That again will be on the menu for the tourists as will visits to Robben Island and the Aquila Game Reserve on non-match days. A sporting and cultural experience of a lifetime awaits the tour party which leaves for Capetown on 21st March returning on the 5th April.
