NCU announce the appointment of Angela Platt to the newly created position of General Manager

The Northern Cricket Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Angela Platt to the newly created position of General Manager.

The position, funded by the International Cricket Council and SportNI is seen as a key element in the movement of the Union towards incorporation and the increase in organisational capability and strengthening of its role in the development of the local game as envisaged in Cricket Ireland's development strategy.

In a role which is all encompassing Angela will have oversight of all aspects of the Union's Strategic Plan and General Management and overall responsibility for the implementation of the Union's strategy.

Speaking of her appointment Angela said:"I am delighted to accept the new General Manager position with the Northern Cricket Union. This is an exciting opportunity to support and enhance the work of the NCU to further develop cricket at local level. I am looking forward to working closely with the staff and volunteers within the NCU and the other Provincial Unions as we all work towards achieving success for cricket at all levels of the game"

Northern Cricket Union Chairman Alan Waite said:"We are extremely pleased that Angela has accepted the position and will start her new role in mid-April. We are sure the experience and skills she has exhibited in her previous roles will greatly benefit the NCU in the next stages of its development".

Angela is currently Executive Manager of Ulster Hockey, a position she has held for seven years. Prior to this she spent a total of seven years as Sports Development Officer in both Carrickfergus and Castlereagh Borough Councils. A dual Hockey and Soccer International player she has sat on the board of the Northern Ireland Sports' Forum since 2011 and is the current vice-chair.
