Carrickfergus CC

Carrickfergus Cricket Club is delighted to announce the final total raised for Pretty ‘n’ Pink is £5,836.48. Before the start of the 2016 Season the Club announced that it would link up with Pretty ‘n’ Pink, Northern Ireland’s only registered Breast Cancer Charity, to help raise funds.

As well as number of fundraising events, the Club’s 1st XI donned the pink playing kit for their Cup matches throughout the 2016 season, adding a splash of colour to their Middle Road ground.

Carrickfergus Cricket Club Chairman, Jim Nelson, said “We are delighted to be able to present a cheque of this amount to the charity, and we hope that this will go some way to helping Breast Cancer patients and their families across the country. Our initial target was £2,000, so to raise more than double that amount is exceptional, and something everyone at the Club should be very proud of.”

Jamie Wallace, from Pretty ‘n’ Pink said, “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Carrickfergus Cricket Club at their various fundraising events throughout 2016 and are delighted to receive a cheque totalling £5,836.48. We would like to thank everyone at the Club for their generosity and support and wish them all the best, this season and in the future.”

The Club would like to thank MG2 Cricket, The Stove Yard and Masuri for their part in the ‘Pink Year’

The cheque was presented at a recent Players’ Night held at Carrickfergus CC to start off the 2017 Season. At the event the Club announced their 2017 Charity Partners would be MindWise, a mental health charity, based in County Antrim. For more info visit: http://www.mindwisenv.org
