Holders Exit Ulster Bank Schools Cup

Belfast Royal Academy's cricketers have failed in their bid for a hat trick of Ulster Bank Schools Cup triumphs.  The winners of the past two years came a cropper in the second round by five wickets  against Foyle College who will now play another Belfast school, Campbell College, in the last eight.
 
Last year's runners up Royal Belfast Academical Institution are safely through to the quarter finals following a resounding seven wicket win over Limavady Grammar and now meet Down High School.
 
Both Lisburn schools are also through. Wallace High School will be at home to Bangor Grammar and Friends School will travel to Ballymena Academy.
 
Second rounds results were:

Wallace HS 218-7 (J Hunter 68, M Jones 42, J Cardosi 34); Antrim GS 53 (N Doak 2-4, B Nelson 2-8, L Allison 2-9)
Wallace High School beat Antrim GS by 165 runs

Ballyclare HS 107-7 (B Lowry 28, A Simmonite 2-5, C Cox 2-5); Bangor GS 108-5 (D Young 38, K McPeak 18)
Bangor GS beat Ballyclare HS by 5 wickets

Carrickfergus GS 31; Friends School, Lisburn 32-1
Friends School, Lisburn beat Carrickfergus GS by 9 wickets
