Uel Graham appointed as NCU Cricket Operations Manager
NCU The Northern Cricket Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Uel Graham to the newly created position of Cricket Operations and Administration Manager. The position, funded by Cricket Ireland, is seen as a key component in the growth and expansion of the Union's cricket operations. The role will also support the increase in organisational capability and strengthening of the Union's role in the development of the local game, as outlined in Cricket Ireland's Strategic Plan. Within this new role Uel will be responsible for the Union's day-to-day operations including all logistics associated with the Northern Knights and NCU representative squad programmes. He will also assist in the delivery of key objectives contained within the NCU Strategic Plan. However, Uel's main focus will be in relation to the smooth running of NCU cricket and technical operations to ensure we satisfy compliance procedures and protocols as laid down by the NCU, Cricket Ireland and relevant funding bodies. Speaking of his appointment Uel said, "I am delighted to undertake this new role within the NCU. Having been involved with the Regional Development Programme, I have seen at first hand how the game continues to grow at grass roots, development and performance level. I look forward to playing a full role in supporting the next phase of this ongoing programme". Northern Cricket Union Chairman Alan Waite said, "The addition of the Cricket Operations post represents another significant step in the development of the NCU. The last five years has seen the addition of Knights, Emerging, Women's and Youth programs to the point that a full-time appointment is now needed to help secure resources and support the work of the respective coaching teams. Uel brings bring a wealth of experience from his playing days, business career and having run the NCU regional development program for the last two years. We wish him well in his new role". The NCU is grateful for the support provided by Cricket Ireland, which has resulted in the establishment of this full-time role to enable the continued growth and development of the Provincial Union's operations. Uel will begin his new role on Monday 14th May and will be based at the NCU Offices, the Pavilion, Stormont Estate. |
