The 2018 NCU Robinson Services Leagues Fixtures Roundup for 5th May
Robinson Services Premier League action arrives in Armagh for the first time in over 60 years on Saturday with the visit of reigning champions Waringstown to The Mall. The Mid Ulster derby will be quite an occasion at one of Ulster's most picturesque venues. Image right shows Instonians captain Andrew Whitewith David Robinson (Managing Director of Robinson Services) and Richard Johnson (Vice President NCU). Tie of the weekend is at The Green, Comber, where North Down now entertain Instonians as Shaw's Bridge is still unplayable, with both sides having registered opening day victories. Carrickfergus defeated the reigning champions Waringstown last weekend, and it is another of the title favourites CIYMS who will visit Middle Road on Saturday. CIYMS were edged out in an opening day thriller at Comber, against North Down. Muckamore and CSNI will aim to register an opening victory of the 2018 campaign when they meet at Moylena. Saturday Fixtures In the Robinson Services League Section 1 the game of the weekend will be at Seapark, where Holywood will play Laurelvale. The County Down side had an impressive victory over Lisburn last weekend, and Laurelvale are newcomers to this Section, after a strong campaign last season saw them promoted. The other promoted team Cregagh and Donacloney Mill will be hoping to register their first victory of the season when they meet at Gibson Park. 7 of the scheduled games over the last two weekends have been washed out so Derriaghy, Downpatrick, Laurelvale, Lurgan and Woodvale will be hoping the reasonable weather this week continues on Saturday and they get to start their season in Section 1's week 3 round of matches. Saturday Fixtures In the Robinson Services League Section 2 only 1 game went ahead last weekend so Belfast SuperKings will be hoping to make their long-awaited debut as they entertain Cooke Collegians at Mallusk Playing Fields. Templepatrick who finished third in Section 2 last season travel to Fullerton Park to take on Dunmurry while last year's fourth placed team Ballymena entertain Ards at Eaton Park. Dundrum hope that the Meadow has dried out sufficiently for them to host Donaghadee while Larne entertain Drumaness. Monaghan make probably their shortest away trip of the season when they travel to Lurgan Park to take on Victoria.
