Strong NCU Representation at the Test Match
Paul Stirling (Cliftonville Academy) and Gary Wilson (CSNI) are the Northern Cricket Union representatives playing in Ireland's inaugural Test Match, in Malahide, against Pakistan. James Shannon and Nathan Smith (both Instonians) were also named in the squad of 14, however Nathan Smith was forced to withdraw from the squad due to injury. Scott Irvine (Cregagh) is part of Ireland's backroom staff, as the Performance Analyst who provides the video analysis for the players. Prior to the start of play Chairman of Cricket Ireland selectors and former International Andrew White had the honour of presenting commemorative Caps to each of the eleven players taking part in the Test Match.
