Instonians Cricket Club hosted a Minis Super 8's Bash at the weekend which gave 6 clubs in the NCU the opportunity to put their practice into play. The event was hosted at Shaw's Bridge on their hockey pitches. Instonians, Muckamore, CSNI, CIYMS, Templepatrick and Lisburn were the clubs that enjoyed a day of play in the sun.

It was clear from the rules and regulations that the event was supported by key fundamentals of inclusion, enjoyment and opportunity.

Super 8 Rules and Regulations;

• 8 players per team / 8 balls per over

Batting:

• Team score starts on 50
• Each pair bats for two 8-ball overs. If batsman is out, -5 runs and players rotate (no lbw's)
• Bonus zone-additional 2 runs added

Fielding and Bowling:

• Bowling takes place from 1 end only
• Each player bowls 1 over
• No fielder within 10 yards of batter until the ball is played

Instonains secured sponsorship from the Belfast City Council for this event and collected donations for their chosen charity which is NI Chest Heart and Stroke.  
All players, coaches and supporters were well accommodated by the hosts as they provided food, refreshments, music and trophies for each team.
