The Northern Knights fell to a 38 run defeat to Leinster Lightning in Friday evenings Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial Twenty 20 fixture. Leinster Lightning batted first and scored 178 for 6, with Irish International Andrew Balbirnie contributing 79 runs.

Shane Getkate took 3 wickets for 23 runs in his allotted four overs. In response the Northern Knights were bowled out for 140, in 16 overs, as James Shannon top scored with 35 runs. Another Ireland International, Tyrone Kane, returned impressive bowling figures of 4 wickets for 23 runs in three overs.
