Lagan Valley Steels Twenty 20 Cup - Round 4 of the Group Matches
CSNI has taken control of Group A, despite not finishing their game on Friday night, due to adverse weather in Armagh. They are six points clear of Instonians and Waringstown, with two rounds to play in the group phase. Waringstown defeated Instonians at Shaw's Bridge, by 4 wickets, with seven balls to spare. Greg Thompson scored 80 not out to see The Villagers to victory, earlier James Shannon scored 79 in the Instonians total of 167 for 5. In Group B, North Down lead the way with an eight point cushion, after a convincing 82 run victory against Muckamore. Peter Eakin (56 not out) and Ruhan Pretorious (50) helped North Down to post a formidable 192 for 3 wickets. Muckamore remain in the hunt for a semi-final place, as CIYMS defeated Carrickfergus by 6 wickets (DLS), with Jason van der Merwe (40 not out) and Ryan Hunter (35 not out) undefeated, as the victory target of 117 was achieved.
