The Northern Cricket Union has announced the Northern Knights squad for the 2018 Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial 20 Over Series (20) fixture against Munster Reds, at The Mardyke, Cork, on Friday June 8th.

The Northern Knights will be captained by Shane Getkate, with Gary Wilson available for inclusion in the squad for the first time this season.

Work commitments meant that Marc Ellison, Nigel Jones, Graeme McCarter, and Alistair Shields were unavailable for selection, as were Robert McKinley, Nathan Smith, and Nikolai Smith, due to injury.

Brian Walsh, the NCU Director of Representative Cricket commented, 'Although the results have not gone our way this year the team have been very competitive and been in strong positions in three out of the four matches so far. This in spite of a number of unavailable players because of injuries, work and county commitments.

The coach, management and players remain very positive, and really look forward to welcoming back Gary (Wilson) who could make the difference between winning and losing a match'.
