The Northern Cricket Union has announced the Emerging Knights squad (sponsored by MTB Solicitors) to play Leinster Lightning Bolts, at Trinity College Dublin, on Sunday the 19th May (11am Start). The Emerging Knights will be captained by Nikolai Smith in the first fixture of the 2019 season.

Northern Knights Head Coach Simon Johnston said, 'It has been an intense winter with weekly training and an overseas training camp in La Manga, Spain, in February for the Andrew White NCU Academy and Emerging programmes. 

The selectors have deliberately not selected from any of our Schoolboys/Irish Under 19 players due to exam commitments at this time of year. They, along with other players not selected in this first squad, will get opportunities throughout the summer to showcase their skills with a minimum of 11 days of cricket planned for the season, across all three formats. 

With an increased player pool, it is vital that we provide our up and coming young players as much tough, high quality cricket as possible.  A massive thanks must go to our sponsors, MTB solicitors, as without their support we wouldn't be able to provide opportunities for our young players such as this'.
