Following an intensive winter training programme that commenced in November last year the girls NCU emerging squad will be playing in their first competitive game of the season against a team from the North West.

The match will be taking place in Meadowbank arena, thankfully due to the indoor nature of the venue there will be no concerns over weather. All of the girls have impressed over the past 8 months, some making massive strides from picking up a cricket ball for the first time in November.

A number of the girls selected are currently playing club cricket around the NCU and making value contributions.

Lead coach Staci Maxwell said "The girls have trained hard over the winter months and in the lead up to the start of the season. This is a great opportunity for the girls to get exposure to more female cricket at an underage level. The coaching team hope that the girls enjoy their first NCU match and take a lot away from the experience."
