We now hope that the cricket season will be able to commence on Saturday 18th July.

This remains dependant on the NI Executive approving protocols for the playing of cricket and clubs demonstrating their awareness of the protocols and ability to implement them. As with the return to training protocols NCU staff will assist clubs through the process.

There will likely continue to be restrictions on the use of changing rooms, numbers in cars etc.

Twenty over cricket is the only option for the playing of cricket in the shortened season that will be available to us.

It has been agreed that the Challenge Cup, Junior Cup and  all the normal League trophies will not be competed for in 2020.

Premier League Clubs
Clubs from the Premier League will play each other once. The top four clubs will play semi-finals and final for the Robinson Services Cup.

In addition the Lagan Valley Steel Twenty20 Cup will be played as a knockout competition. The winner of this cup will proceed to the National T20 Cup competition.

Both competitions will be played in coloured clothing and use a white ball.

Senior League 1
Clubs from Senior League 1 will play each other once for the Robinson Services Trophy.

Views of clubs will be sought as to whether they also wish to participate in the T20 Trophy.

Senior Leagues 2 and 3
Clubs from Senior Leagues 2 and 3 have been amalgamated and placed in three geographical sections. Clubs will play on a home and away basis and the three section winners will play off for the Robinson Services Bowl.

Junior League 1
Teams will play reversed fixtures from the Premier League

Other Junior Leagues
Teams have been placed in groups of 4/5 on a geographic basis and will home and away fixtures. (Teams are free to organise other fixtures outside their groups).

It is hoped clubs will realise that this is the most cricket that can be played in the short time that will be available to us. Many clubs will lose their ground at the end of August and a full programme in September is not realistic.

Detailed fixtures, regulations and information on registrations and starring will issue shortly.

A meeting with clubs to discuss this will be held on Thursday 2nd July by Zoom. It is expected that these meetings will be of short duration.

6.45pm  -  Premier League clubs
7.30pm  -  Senior League 1 clubs
8.15pm  -  Senior League 2 and 3 clubs
