NCU Gallagher Women’s Challenge Cup Semi-Final Draw

NCU

CSNI along with Shane Matthews and NCU President Richard Johnson
The draw for the Semi-finals of the Gallagher Women’s Challenge Cup has created the possibility of a repeat of last season’s final.  Holders Civil Service North and runners-up Muckamore have avoided each other in the draw.

CSNI, following their win against North Down in the previous round, have a tough encounter away to former winners Lurgan, who defeated Division 1 side Carrick in their first round tie.

In the other semi-final Waringstown, after overcoming Instonians on run rate, will host last year’s runners-up Muckamore, who had a convincing win against Division 1 side, Holywood.

Exciting semi-final ties that will be too close to call given the excellent form of all four teams so far this season.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions Gallagher representatives will be unable to attend the matches in person to present Player of the Match Awards.  Managing Director, Shane Matthews, has said “We are sorry that COVID-19 restrictions mean that our representatives are unable to attend the matches in person, a role we always enjoy doing under normal circumstances.  Gallagher will, however, ensure we send each Player of the Match winner an award to recognise their achievements”.

The full draw is:
Lurgan v CSNI
Waringstown v Muckamore

The games will be played on Sunday 16th August with the final scheduled for Sunday 30th August.
