The NCU has welcomed the positive announcement from the NI Executive of a return to competitive cricket in Northern Ireland.

We will continue to work together with Cricket Ireland, NWCU, the Department for Communities and Sport NI to ensure a safe return to cricket in accordance with government guidelines.  An announcement on the season structure will be made in due course, however it is expected the season will commence on Saturday 8th May.

The NCU is encouraged to see a return to local cricket in Northern Ireland on the horizon, however all clubs are reminded that current guidelines must be followed regarding training group sizes and Return to Train protocols. Further advice on match-day protocols will be issued to clubs as soon as details are finalised.

We will also continue to monitor the situation in the Republic of Ireland and how the Irish Government plans impact our clubs operating in Monaghan.  

The NCU will hold a further Club Forum with all clubs to outline the 'Return to Play' protocols and season plans.
