Northern Knights Squad Announced for their Inter-Provincial Cup Opener
MTB Northern Knights Head Coach Simon Johnston has named his first squad of the summer ahead of tomorrow's Inter-Provincial Cup opener against Leinster Lightning in Dublin. Harry Tector will captain the team for the first time and will be joined by fellow Irish internationals Mark Adair, James McCollum and Paul Stirling. There may be debuts for Luke Georgeson, Jeremy Lawlor and Ben White who have been called up for the first time. Matthew Foster has also been named in the 12-man squad. The 21-year-old seam bowler has enjoyed playing for Cardiff UCCE and Somerset's 2nd XI so far this summer and has impressed. CIYMS opening batsman John Matchett has been recalled to the MTB Northern Knights squad for the first time in three years. He played three first-class matches and made a solo T20 appearance across the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Of the announcement, Johnston said: "It's great to have inter-provincial cricket back up and running. The guys worked hard over the winter and in pre-season to ensure that they are ready to go come the first ball tomorrow. There are a few new faces in the squad this year and I have no doubt that they'll be itching to show what they're made of." MTB Northern Knights squad to face Leinster Lightning:
