MTB Northern Knights squad announcement - Leinster Lightning 16th May
MTB Northern Knights Head Coach Simon Johnston has named his 13-man squad for Sunday's Inter-Provincial Cup clash against Leinster Lightning at North Down Cricket Club. The squad that has been named will also be used for matches against the North West Warriors at Stormont (18th May) and Bready (21st May). In addition to the 12 that were named for the season opener against Leinster Lightning earlier this month, James Cameron-Dow will also feature. The left-arm spinner, who turns 31 next week, has played 42 times for MTB Northern Knights since making his debut in 2013 – taking 82 wickets. Five players (Graeme McCarter, James McCollum, Neil Rock, Harry Tector and Ben White) were involved with Ireland Wolves this week during their series against Netherlands 'A' in Wicklow. Tector scored 69 in the opening match of the series and an unbeaten 57 in the series decider. McCarter took nine wickets in the three matches. Ahead of the next matches, Johnston said: "Despite the result in the opening match against Leinster Lightning, there were positives that we took away from the game. We've been working hard since and hopefully things go our way in the upcoming games." "It's great to have James (Cameron-Dow) back in the squad. He brings a wealth of experience with him and offers us something different with the ball." "It has been fantastic to see so many of our squad away with the Ireland Wolves this week. They will have learned so much and hopefully they can apply that new knowledge when playing for MTB Northern Knights in the future."
