North West Warriors v MTB Northern Knights - Match Report
MTB Northern Knights lost by a single run in their Inter-Provincial Trophy match against North West Warriors at Bready on Friday. Harry Tector won the toss and elected to bowl first. MTB Northern Knights picked up two wickets in the powerplay as Stephen Doheny (16) and Nathan Maguire (0) fell to Graeme McCarter and Ben White respectively. After losing William Porterfield in the seventh over and the score reading 31-3, the Warriors were precariously placed. However, a fourth-wicket stand of 84 between William McClintock (54) and Shane Getkate (36) as well as some late runs from the captain, Andy McBrine, North West Warriors posted 160-6 in their 20 overs. Luke Georgeson (2-30) was the pick of the MTB Northern Knights bowlers. There was a wicket each for McCarter, White and Mark Adair Neil Rock hit 45 off 30 balls and had support from Ross Adair (26), Mark Adair (23) and Ruhan Pretorius (14) as MTB Northern Knights managed 159-7 in 20 overs. The MTB Northern Knights are back in action tomorrow afternoon (4PM) as they take on Leinster Lightning at Bready.
