The Gallagher Challenge Cup has reached the quarter-finals stage with 4 eagerly anticipated fixtures set for Saturday. CSNI recorded a comfortable 7 wicket win over Ballymena in the 2nd round to book their place in the quarter-finals. They will now face Carrickfergus who make the trip to Stormont after defeating Woodvale in the last round. Last year's winners CIYMS convincingly beat Cliftonville Academy in the 2nd round with Knights captain Mark Adair taking home the Gallagher Player of the Match award. They have home advantage over 3-time winners Instonians who will be in good spirits after beating North Down in the previous round. This is sure to be a belter at Belmont. The only remaining team from Section 1 in this season's historic competition is Derriaghy, who travel to Premier League newcomers Cregagh. Both teams had convincing wins over Section 1 opposition in the 2nd round and will be confident going into the tie. Waringstown will make the trip to Premier League leaders Lisburn who had the biggest winning margin of the 2nd round when they beat Bangor by 285 runs. Waringstown's in-form batsman Morgan Topping will look to replicate his 2nd round hundred before he heads to Bristol on Sunday with the Irish Developmental XI. It will be another great weekend of Gallagher Challenge Cup cricket with some big match ups to decide who will be in the semi-finals. Gallagher Challenge Cup Quarter-Final fixtures: |
